I became an actor in 1993 after 12 years as a journalist.
I have appeared in about 50 short films and corporate videos, often in leading roles. FISH OUT OF WATER won a BAVA Best Drama Award at Bafta and a Meridian TV Best Drama Award.
As well as screen work, I do voiceovers and stage shows (plays, musical theatre and vaudeville), have sung with various live bands and run a corporate event company.
I am 6ft tall, exercise regularly, belong to Equity and am in The Spotlight. These days I seem to get cast a lot as Pushy Executive, Cheating Husband or Middle Class Nice Guy.
In my previous life as a journalist, I wrote under the name David Shannon and was drama critic for the Today newspaper and a regular contributor to Cosmopolitan magazine. As David Shannon, I co-wrote the musical When It Rains which was a Vivian Ellis Award prize winner.
